As the party gets directions from the birds, they find their direction to a nearby lake. The Birds warn of a Guardian of the area. They find out the Guardian is a large "hulking beast" from a squirrel Eressil talks with. They find a clear path of trees that have been both uprooted and felled by axes.

After passing a stream, they come upon another rather open area with less trees. They hear repetitive thuds. As they stealthily make their way through the area, Ashe takes off running, making a lot of noise to draw attention. The thuds, which they believe are footsteps, stop but they don't see anything. They hear a loud sound and it looks like Ashe is sent flying through the air. Ajax finds out it is an Invisible Giant that attacked them and is holding onto Ashe. Finally after casting a Faerie fire that hits the giant, they can see it and fight appropriately.

The giant continues to slam Ashe into the ground. As they finally knock the giant down, Ashe gets thrown through the air and falls to the ground. Rhone tries to reason with the Giant, but he just chuckles. After killing the creature, the loot his corpse and Ajax skins part of him to try to make an invisible cloak.

They rest that night, and deal with the events of the day. The next morning, Ajax awakens and runs to the river to summon his familiar, a Psuedodragon. Eressil has finally also managed to learn her Enlarge/Reduce spell. Ashe and Ajax have dissidence growing more between them.

As they explore, they find a Camp with large tents that seems to be suffering from the same invisibility effect that the Giant and the Trees suffer from. This is probably the giants camp. The party starts to loot the tent and cast Faerie Fire to be able to see what is around. In the middle of this, they hear a young voice screaming out, "Oooh! Mommy! Glittery Things!!!!!" Ajax creates an illusion of a Giant Wolf and the boy runs away, as that happens they flee the immediate area, and sooner or later start to see grass again, noting the invisible effect is disappearing.

They come across a body of lake with a settlement around it in the distance. As they move toward the settlement, They have come across Bionburg.
